Old Kowloon Club

Welcome to Old Kowloon Club

You duck to enter through the green door and step off the bustling street behind you. It's somewhat less hot and humid in here than outside. The noise of the street is replaced by the low din of conversations broken up by occasional laughter or clinking of glasses.

As your eyes adjust to the dimmer light, you first notice the walls, wood panelled and painted green, and adorned by portraits of obscure individuals you don't recognize. Next you notice the tables and booths of wood and velvet, mismatched colors rich but dulled with age. It's not loud in here, but the conversations taking place around you drown each other out enough to be private.

The variety of patrons in the establishment is notable: a few businessmen in pinstripe suits and gold watches; a couple working class folks in coveralls and t-shirts; a lady in a fancy dress and hat; one or two mysterious looking individuals with hoods pulled over their heads. This seems to be the type of place that attracts all types. To one side you see a bar counter; the vested bartender looks up from the glass he is cleaning to nod at you in acknowledgement as you step inside.
